Le Parfait jars have been made in France since 1930, and their distinctive orange rubber seal and wire-bail closure is one of the most recognisable shapes in any well-stocked kitchen. These are the jars your grandmother used — and there's a reason they've been in continuous production for nearly a century.

The Le Parfait clip-top system creates a reliable vacuum seal during water bath processing: fill, close the bail, process, and as the jar cools the rubber seal is drawn tight. Once sealed, the bail can be released and the lid will stay in place under vacuum. A lid that lifts when the bail is released means the seal didn't take — easy to confirm at a glance.

Replace your rubber seals regularly

Le Parfait seals are reusable but not indefinitely. Inspect before each use and replace if stretched, flattened, cracked, or discoloured. Replacement 85mm and 100mm seals are in our Lids & Bands collection.

250ml – 3L · swing-top

The classic straight-sided Le Parfait with orange rubber seal and wire bail. Jams, pickles, sauces, preserved fruit, and pantry storage. Singles and cases of 6.

Terrine

350ml – 1.5L · swing-top

Wider, lower-profile shape. Suited to pâtés, soft preserves, marmalades, and anything you'd serve straight from the jar.

Familia Wiss

350ml – 1.5L · screw band

Screw-band version for those who prefer a conventional lid system. Suitable for water bath canning. Compatible with standard 110mm lids.

High-acid foods

Jams, jellies, marmalades, chutneys, pickles, relishes, and preserved fruit. All high-acid foods that can be safely processed in a boiling water bath.

Pantry storage

Dry goods & staples

Coffee, grains, legumes, pasta, spices, and baking ingredients. The swing-top bail keeps contents airtight and the iconic shape looks as good on a shelf as it is functional.

Gifting

Homemade preserves

Fill with homemade jam, marinated olives, or flavoured vinegar. Le Parfait's distinctive French shape needs no decoration — the jar is part of the gift.

Fermentation

Simple ferments
