German glassware · Since 1900
Weck jars have been made in Öflingen, Germany since 1900 — and after 125 years they remain the standard for serious home preservers. Made from thick borosilicate glass with no BPA, lead, or cadmium, every jar in this range is built to handle water bath canning, fermenting, and daily pantry use without compromise.
The sealing system is what sets Weck apart: a glass lid sits on a natural rubber seal, held in place by two stainless-steel clips during processing. Once the jar cools, the vacuum seal locks the lid down. To check the seal, simply remove the clips — if the lid stays put, you’re sealed. No guessing. No pressing down and listening for a pop.
Glass lid on rubber seal means no metal ever contacts your food or brine. Replacement seals and clips are available separately — recommended for replacement each canning season.
